Toppresultat i volym
Containerhanteringen har slagit rekord igen. Helsingborgs Hamn noterar ett nytt volymrekord som lyder: 267 652 TEU (LO/LO). En ökning med 10,8 % jämfört med 2018.
– Vi har aldrig hanterat så mycket gods som vi gör nu samtidigt som vi planerar för att kunna hantera långt över dessa siffror i framtiden, säger hamnens vd Bart Steijaert.
Flera viktiga händelser har bidragit till det goda resultatet. Befintliga rederikunder har ökat sina volymer. Baltic Reefers inledde året med en ny direkttrafik för att skapa ett riktigt attraktivt erbjudande för de svenska fruktimportörerna. Unifeeders nya anlöp var en viktig affär med extra stor hållbarhetsvinst där det anländande godset transporteras vidare på järnväg via hamnens kombiterminal.
– Affärerna och utvecklingen har inneburit en betydande ökning inom containersegmentet. Sen är det alltid inspirerande när miljöfrågan får styra och marknaden återigen visar på att det går alldeles utmärkt att kombinera bra affärer med hållbara sjötransporter, säger Nicklas Romell försäljnings- och marknadschef.
Konsumtionstakten har legat på fortsatt hög nivå och exportindustrin fortsätter att gå bra även om vissa försvagningstecken finns. Containertrafiken ökar och tar över en allt större del av de världsomspännande transporterna.
– Jag är stolt över hur alla i Helsingborgs Hamn har bidragit till dessa volymer. Nu siktar vi framåt för att kunna fortsätta leverera på en marknad som är hårt konkurrensutsatt, där effektivitet, hållbarhet och fortsatt utveckling tillsammans med medarbetare och kunder kommer vara helt avgörande, säger Bart.
2020 blir ett spännande år där fokus även fortsättningsvis kommer riktas mot hållbarhet. Einride är Helsingborgs Hamns samarbetspartner i ett innovationspartnerskap där målet är att ta fram självkörande elektriska fordon för hållbarare transporter både i, och i förlängningen även utanför hamnens område. Generellt sett kommer hållbarhetsfrågor allt högre upp på allas agenda oavsett vad det handlar om och trenden där gods flyttar från lastbil till sjö är fortfarande tydlig.

All-time high container volumes at Port of Helsingborg
The container operations in Port of Helsingborg has once again noted a new record during 2019 in terms of total container volume handled in the port. The new record is 267 652 TEU (LO/LO), an increase of +10,8% vs. 2018.
– We have never handled as much cargo as we currently do, and at the same time, we plan to be able to handle an even more significant volume increase in the future, says Bart Steijaert.
Several important events have played a vital part in this success. Almost all existing customers have increased their volumes in the port. Baltic Reefers started the year with a new direct service creating a very competitive offer for the Swedish fruit importers. Unifeeders new vessel call has been essential and also very beneficial for the environment since the final destination is routed by rail via our combi terminal hence we combine the transports by both sea and rail.
– The business development during 2019 has meant a significant increase in the container segment and it’s always inspiring when the sustainability point of view can be the driving factor, and the outcome has shown that the market is open to combine great business with sustainable maritime transports, says Nicklas Romell, CCO.
The supply and demand remain at high levels, and the export industry, in general, continues to perform well despite some minor signs of decreases. The container traffic is still increasing and controls most of the global transports.

2020 will be an exciting year where the focus remains on efficiency and sustainability.
